Word Shield is a fast, offline word-guessing game with a twist: instead of watching a doomed figure appear, you defend a glowing hexagonal energy shield. Every correct letter snaps into place; every wrong guess shatters one of your seven shield segments. Each round pulls a random word from a built-in bank of hundreds of common English words, grouped into ten categories — Animals, Food, Nature, Sports, Science, Home, Travel, Music, Body and Jobs — and the category is shown as your only hint. Solve the word before the shield breaks to keep your win streak alive; miss too many and the answer is revealed. Your win streak and total wins are saved automatically, so every session builds on the last. It plays free in the browser with no download, and works on both mobile and desktop.
